There is a moment that happens at Disneyland on most days (weather permitting) with the Disneyland Band, Mickey Mouse & Friends, and often the Dapper Dans. Called the Main Street March-Along, this moment is packed with a lot of fun, music, magic, and even interactivity. This is what I’m thankful for today. There are several reasons for this, but I’ll hit just a couple of them.

First off, whenever Disney characters are paired with the Disneyland Band, something extra magical happens. Some of my favorite memories through the years involve various Disney characters with the Disneyland Band. There was a time when they could be found performing by the Main Gate at Disneyland in the mornings, often with the Mad Hatter and his antics making people laugh. There was also used to be an amazing moment when Eeyore and other characters would join the Disneyland Band in Town Square. Often, this would include Eeyore conducting the band. Few things were better.

Today, we still get Disney characters with the Disneyland Band every day in the Main Street March-Along. This starts at 12:15 PM at Sleeping Beauty Castle. The Disneyland Band marches out and performs a tune. They are then joined by Mickey & Friends before they all make their way down Main Street, U.S.A. with guests in tow. In Town Square, there is a brief performance in front of Main Street Station before they all march away. The whole thing is happy and charming. It is very reminiscent of an old Disney movie, like Follow Me, Boys.

There are other opportunities to see Disney characters with the Disneyland Band, but generally it is just one and for one song. The Main Street March-Along is one of those moments during the day that are purely magical and often overlooked by guests. It is one of those things that is a treasure at the Disneyland Resort. In my humble opinion, I’d love to see more things like this. In the meantime, I’m very happy and thankful for the Main Street March-Along.
