Star Trek is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026. To kick off the celebration, there will be a Star Trek float in the Rose Parade on January 1, 2025, in Pasadena, California. In a post on StarTrek.com, it was revealed that “Star Trek‘s innovative float design will reflect values of hope, inclusivity, exploration, and unity, and will spotlight the upcoming new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy while honoring 60 years of Star Trek.“
The float is called Space for Everybody and complements the 2026 Rose Parade’s theme of The Magic in Teamwork. This float will extend an open invitation to celebrate the future that Star Trek aspires to. This is described as ” a future of HOPE, a future of EXPLORATION and a future where we rise to the challenge to BE BOLD.”

The float has been designed by John Ramirez and brought to life by creatives at Artistic Entertainment Services (AES). The entire float features the iconic starship U.S.S. Enterprise rising above multiple planets that have been seen through six decades of Star Trek. The Vasquez Rocks also feature prominently in the back of the float. This pays homage to the local Los Angeles landmark’s role as a frequent filming location in Star Trek. There are also interactive transporters found in the center of the float.
With Star Trek: Starfleet Academy arriving in 2026, the Starfleet Academy campus in San Francisco can be seen rising above the float. On the side of the float, the Star Trek 60 logo will be seen to honor this milestone. Front and center on the float will be the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise, complete with Star Trek actors. At this time, the lineup of cast members who will be a part of this hasn’t been announced.
The Rose Parade is an incredibly popular annual New Year’s Day tradition. The multi-mile parade includes flower-covered floats, marching bands, and more. Thousands show up to watch it in person, and millions watch it on screens from around the globe. The parade is followed later in the day by the college football Rose Bowl Game.
