There was a lot of exciting things that were shared throughout the weekend at Destination D23. This included a look at the upcoming Villains-Themed Land, a new paint-schemed for Cinderella Castle, Walt Disney coming to Carousel of Progress, and more. During a panel that was focused on Disney Eats with Keith from the Tri-Guys, a look was given at the novelty items that are found in the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line. These have become incredibly popular and incredibly detailed in recent years.
During the panel, a brief history was shared about these novelty buckets. They were introduced in the 1990s in the form of popcorn buckets first. This led to the first character-inspired bucket in 2010, the Mickey Mouse Ghost. Once this arrived, it was a whole new world. More buckets soon came that were inspired by favorite characters. They also got progressively more detailed and magical with elements like light up features, sound effects, and wearable straps. This includes Star Wars droids, Figment, trains, and more. They also have expanded well behind popcorn buckets with other snack vessels coming into play. This includes intricate mugs and themed sippers. There are more on the way too.
