If you have been following Daps Magic’s coverage of the Carolwood Foundation Inaugural Lawn Bowling Tournament, you know that it was supposed to take place on Saturday, October 11, at the Pasadena Lawn Bowling Club. Now, a new post on the Facebook page for Walt’s Barn has shared that this event will be postponed indefinitely. The following post made the announcement:
Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn
While this event might be postponed indefinitely, this isn’t the only thing that is going on with Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn. On the third Sunday of each month, Walt’s Barn is open to the public from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. These Sunday events often include book signings, Disney Legends, and other significant pieces of Walt Disney’s history and legacy.
The Carolwood Foundation exists to “preserve Walt Disney’s railroad legacy. We accomplish this through: sharing our volunteers’ and supporters’ love of railroading; teaching our children to understand the role that railroads served in building America, and encouraging the continual appreciation of railroading.” The foundation was created in 2005 by Walt Disney fans “who love trains as much as Walt did.”
The Carolwood Foundation is one of several nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to protecting and sharing the legacy of Walt Disney. These organizations survive on the generous donations of like-minded fans who want to see the history and memory of Walt Disney live on.
