The first trailer for The Paper has been released ahead of The Office spinoff’s arrival on Peacock in September. The series sees the same fictional camera crew that followed the workers of Dunder Mifflin now in Toledo, Ohio. The new mockumentary focuses on the staffers of a historic Midwestern newspaper, the ‘Toledo Truth-Teller.’ This newspaper is led by a publisher who is trying to bring it back to life… with a team of volunteer reporters. While most of the characters of The Paper are brand new, there is one familiar face that returns from The Office... much to his dismay.
The first four episodes of The Paper will be arriving on Peacock on September 2nd. This will be followed by two new episodes every Thursday through September 25. Check out the trailer here:
The Paper has a star-studded ensemble cast. This includes series regulars Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina, About Time), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Chelsea Frei (Poker Face, The Cleaning Lady), Melvin Gregg (American Vandal, Snowfall), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Black Ops, A League Of Their Own), Alex Edelman (Just For Us, Unfrosted), Ramona Young (Never Have I Ever, Santa Clarita Diet), Tim Key (The Witchfinder, This Time with Alan Partridge), and Oscar Nuñez (The Office, The Proposal). They are joined by guest stars Eric Rahill, Tracy Letts, Molly Ephraim, Mo Welch, Allan Havey, Duane Shepard Sr., Nate Jackson, and Nancy Lenehan. The series is written and executive produced by Greg Daniels (The Office) and Michael Koman (Nathan for You), and Universal Television, with executive producers Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille).
