The Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is the Disneyland Resort’s Halloween after-hours event that takes place on select nights from August 17 through October 31, 2025. At this point, there are still a few nights with tickets available. Daps Magic will be at the opening night of the Oogie Boogie Bash for full coverage of this popular annual event.
Ahead of the first night of the Oogie Boogie Bash, there are quite a few things that are good to know about this after-hours event. Below is a look at all of the pertinent details that one needs to know ahead of attending.
What’s Included
For the Oogie Boogie Bash, the party officially begins at 6:00 PM and then ends at 11:00 PM. This is five hours of some pretty awesome Halloween experiences and offerings that can be found only at Disney California Adventure and ONLY during this party. The fun doesn’t just start at 6:00 PM, though. Guests can enter Disney California Adventure as early as 3:00 PM for the pre-party park mix-in. This is three hours before the party officially starts. This is a great time to enjoy the park offerings that are available to all guests. Throughout the party, guests can get their picture taken by Disney PhotoPass and then get unlimited digital downloads of their photos from the party. The photos can be downloaded from your MyDisney account up to 45 days after they are taken. There is also a commemorative event guide that is both a beautifully designed map along with reference guide during the party. It also makes for a nice keepsake to remember the Oogie Boogie Bash.
Costumes
Guests are encouraged to dress up and wear costumes for the Oogie Boogie Bash. Throughout the night, guests will be dressed in fabulous costumes, awesome Disneybounds, or themed shirts from Disney Store or one of the shops around the Disneyland Resort. There are costume guidelines that need to be adhered to during the party. Be sure to check them out before putting together a costume and attending this event.

Remember, it will often cool off as the night goes by, so bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. This is especially true later in the season. Also, wear comfortable shoes. This may be a Halloween party, but it is also still a night of enjoying a Disney theme park!
Treat Trails and Characters
The Treat Trails and character encounters at Oogie Boogie Bash are often a favorite for many attendees. Throughout the night, the treats that can be collected include M&M’S, SKITTLES, SNICKERS, and more. Each Treat Trail also has alternative options for guests looking for allergy-friendly and no-sugar-added treats. This is true for all 12 treat trails this year. Along the way, there will also be some villains and legendary misfits to be encountered.
There are also Disney characters that are dressed in Halloween outfits found throughout the night. This includes some incredibly rare appearances by some rare characters, or versions of characters, throughout the park. Oogie Boogie Bash is a fantastic event for people who love to meet and see Disney characters!
Frightfully Fun Parade
During each of the Oogie Boogie Bash events, the Frightfully Fun Parade will be presented at 7:45 PM and 10:00 PM.
Daps Tip: Go to the second parade, as it often has more viewing space for less of a wait.
Ahead of the parade, the Headless Horseman will make his way through Disney California Adventure. This is followed by a parade that is exactly what the name implies, full of frightful fun! There are some favorite Disney villains included in this parade, characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and even some of the happy haunts from the Haunted Mansion!
For those who would like to elevate the experience, the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party provides reserved seating, delicious treats, beverages, and a collectible enamel pin. The treats include freeze-dried fruit with gummy worms, a blueberry ooze cake, mini cupcakes, and more. Advanced reservations are highly recommended.
Villains Grove
Villains Grove at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is a beautiful and mystical walkthrough that is full of magic inspired by some legendary Disney Villains. It includes mystical lights, sights, and sounds that bring to life the auras of Dr. Facilier, Frollo, Scar, and other fan-favorite villains.
Shorter Ride Wait Times
One of the major advantages of attending an after-hours event at the Disneyland Resort is the opportunity to experience the attractions in the park with shorter wait times. This is true for the Oogie Boogie Bash. Guests can get on rides without as long a wait as is generally found during normal operating hours for Disney California Adventure. This includes popular attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark!, Toy Story Midway Mania! (which currently has some special nods to the 70th Celebration) and Incredicoaster.
Food & Sipper
Some food options are available exclusively during the Oogie Boogie Bash. This is on top of the seasonal food items that will be available during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort starting on August 22, 2025, or the Plaza de la Familia offerings. There is also a new sipper available during Oogie Boogie Bash. Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Mayor Sipper will be available at select Disney California Adventure locations while supplies last:

- Corn Dog Castle
- Fairfax Market
- Mortimers Market
- Paradise Garden Grill

- Select vending carts
Daps Tips: Utilize mobile ordering whenever possible. This can be done to order food earlier in the day. The Disneyland App can also be utilized to add your party to the mobile walk-up list at select table-service restaurants (subject to availability).
Oogie Boogie Bash Merchandise
There will be event-exclusive merchandise available during Oogie Boogie Bash as well. This special merchandise can be found during the event at Elias & Co., Gone Hollywood, and Seaside Souvenirs. The merchandise features Oogie Boogie himself and includes a crossbody bag, Minnie Mouse ear headband, and Spirit Jersey. These will be available while supplies last.
Know Before You Go
There are a lot of things to do at the Oogie Boogie Bash. It is impossible to do everything. Before you go to this Halloween party at the Disneyland Resort, pick your priorities and come up with a flexible plan for what you want to do. This plan needs to be flexible as the Oogie Boogie Bash can be impacted by weather and other factors.
Remember, everyone who is attending and everyone who is working at this party is a person with feelings and their own challenges. Do your best to add to the magic of the night rather than detracting from it. Sometimes things won’t go right or how we want them to, but we can still experience magic in these moments by focusing on the good and keeping kind!
If you aren’t focused on trying the foods that are exclusive to Oogie Boogie Bash, it is a good idea to eat during the mix-in time between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Recognize, there will be more people trying to eat during this time as both day guests and party guests will all be filling Disney California Adventure.
