Haunted Mansion Transformation

Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Closes for Transformation to Haunted Mansion Holiday

On its 56th birthday, the Haunted Mansion closed its gates (quite literally). This was to begin its annual transformation into the Haunted Mansion Holiday. Each year, Jack Skellington from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas takes over the haunted halls to deck them for the holidays. Haunted Mansion Holiday opens with the beginning of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. It continues in this form through the end of the year and the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. In January, it will make the transformation back to its traditional form that opened 56 years ago today.

Ahead of the closure of the Haunted Mansion, the Daps Magic team stopped by for one last ride with the happy haunts. Here is a video of the final day of this beloved attraction in its classic form of 2025:

On Saturday morning, Daps Magic team member Steven stopped by the Haunted Mansion to check out any changes that might be happening on its first day closed. As can be seen in the following photos and video, work has already begun on the transformation.

Haunted Mansion Holiday will be opening on August 22, 2025. It will remain open in that form through January 7, 2026. When it opens, guests will get to glimpse the new gingerbread house that was created this year for the ballroom. They will also see Jack Skellington, Sally, and other residents of Halloween Town in these happy haunted halls… including Oogie Boogie!
