The Disneyland Resort helped get the school year started off right for teachers when Disney VoluntEARS surprised faculty at Orange Grove Elementary School in Anaheim. They arrived with thousands of school supplies for their classrooms that were donated by Disney cast members. On top of that, teachers and faculty members were also surprised with complimentary tickets for themselves and a guest to enjoy the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration.

The supplies came from the Disneyland Resort’s annual Back-to-School Supply Drive. Cast members came together to donate over 68,000 school supplies. This ranged from colored pencils and crayons to pencils and spiral notebooks. All of this was done to support Anaheim teachers ahead of the start of the new school year on August 6th. Disney Volunteers stopped by Orange Grove Elementary School in Anaheim to deliver many of these surprises. This helped ensure that teachers and students started their school year off in the best way possible! Along with the Disney VoluntEARS, Mickey Mouse and Disney Ambassador Raul Aquino Rojas also surprised over 100 teachers with complimentary tickets to Disneyland Resort for them and a guest.
The Disneyland Resort has worked alongside Orange Grove Elementary School for over 18 years. For nearly two decades, Disneyland Resort has worked to encourage students in Anaheim to succeed. Along with the annual Back-to-School Supply Drive, the Disneyland Resort also partners with the school for the HOLA Readers program. This is a 12-week annual program that helps foster students’ love of learning. This is done through dedicated story time with Disney VoluntEARS, Disney Career Days, and Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

For seven decades, the Disneyland Resort has continued to invest in the community around it. Along with supporting local schools, each year the Disneyland Resort also supports the Children’s Hospital of Orange County with the CHOC Walk in the Park. This year, the CHOC Walk raised nearly $3 million to date as thousands of walkers arrived at the Disneyland Resort to support CHOC before the parks opened.
