Disney VoluntEARS continue to make a difference in the communities where Disney is found. Around the Disneyland Resort, Disney VoluntEARS came together to donate 4,000 school supplies to students in Anaheim. This is part of an effort to ensure local students start the year off in the right way.
Disney VoluntEARS brought magic to the class at Orange Grove Elementary School in Anaheim before the first day of school this week. They dropped over nearly 4,000 new school supplies that were donated by Disneyland Resort cast members. The donations were so generous that officials at the school shared that they will be able to share it with other local schools. This includes Horace Mann Elementary. The gifts from Disney cast members will help students with their success in education.
The donations were collected from Disneyland Resort cast members during its annual Back to School campaign. Donations ranged from colored pencils and glue sticks to spiral notebooks and erasers. All of the efforts and donations were made to support local students in Anaheim. Couple this with the support of Disney VoluntEARS, nearly 400 students at Orange Grove Elementary School were able to pull together all of the necessary supplies that are needed to get a positive start to the school year.
“We are thrilled to receive this generous support from Disney VoluntEARS,” said Dr. Vanessa Marroquin, Orange Grove Elementary School Principal. “The donated supplies from the Disneyland Resort will make a significant impact in setting our students up for success in the new school year.”
Disney VoluntEARS are celebrating 40 years of investing in their local communities. The program began at the Disneyland Resort and has grown around the world over the last four decades. Disney VoluntEARS recently celebrated 40 years of volunteerism at Pearson Park in Anaheim.
