VIDEO: 4th of July Patriotic Flag Retreat at Disneyland with 1st Marine Division Band

The 4th of July at Disneyland Resort is always a very special day. For several years, the 1st Marine Division Band has performed throughout the Disneyland Resort for Independence Day. Sometimes it has also performed around the resort on the days before and after. This year, the 1st Marine Division Band began its 4th of July performances at the Disneyland Resort by performing in Avengers Campus in the early afternoon of Independence Day.

Later in the day, the band participated in the patriotic flag retreat at Disneyland in Town Square. This patriotic flag retreat is a daily tradition at the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. This tradition continues a long-held commitment by The Walt Disney Company to the United States military and those who serve. This comes from when its founders Walt Disney, and his brother Roy, served during World War I. Today it is a special part of a day at Disneyland that is full of meaning.

The 1st Marine Division Band arrived shortly after 4 and marched into position on the street in front of the Train Station. The flag retreat was similar, but even more special with the addition of the military band. Below is a look at the video of this special ceremony.

Following the flag retreat, the 1st Marine Division Band marched from Town Square up to it’s a small world along the parade route. This made for a patriotic ending to the marching band’s day at The Happiest Place on Earth. They also performed in jazz sets later in the evening. Here is a look at the march:
