Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration Painting

Commissioned Painting for Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration Revealed

Disneyland is celebrating its 70th anniversary, and it’s always fun to remember and look back at attractions that fans have loved and continue to love.

Former Disney Imagineer and renowned artist Eric Robison has captured lots of Disneyland Resort magic in one incredible painting that was commissioned by Imagineers and gifted to Disneyland to honor this milestone.

Eric Robison began his career as an artist when he was hired by Walt Disney Imagineering. As a concept designer, he worked on projects associated with Disneyland Resort Paris, Disneyland Resort Tokyo, Walt Disney World Resort, and, of course, the Disneyland Resort. Perhaps Eric’s most popular artwork among Disney fans is the 100 Mickey Mouse portraits. In 2001, Eric was commissioned by Disneyland to create 100 Mickey Mouse portraits for Disneyland’s celebration of Walt Disney’s 100th birthday.

The new painting features Sleeping Beauty Castle along with attractions from Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Favorite current and former attractions featured include “it’s a small world,” Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Millennium Falcon, Pixar Pier, Mark Twain Riverboat, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Jungle Cruise, Grizzly Peak, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Disneyland Monorail, PeopleMover, Space Mountain, Indiana Jones Adventure, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Disneyland Railroad, Cars Land, and the Red Car Trolley. The painting even includes the last portrait taken of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse in October 1966, taken by former Disneyland Chief Photographer Renie Bardeau.
