In recent years at Knott’s Berry Farm, a new summer tradition has become a fan favorite. Ghost Town Alive! is an interactive experience that allows guests to join the inhabitants of Calico for a day of western adventure. The day happens to be Founder’s Day each day. Just like in other years, there is a new experience to be had on Founder’s Day.
Daps Magic was invited by Knott’s Berry Farm to check out Ghost Town Alive! This led to one of the most fun and relaxing days down at the farm. The great thing about Ghost Town Alive! is that all of the inhabitants of Calico will meet guests where they are at. If you want to be all in, they will embrace that with open arms. Those guests can be right in the thick of the day’s plot. They will go on adventures with the Calico inhabitants and become a part of the day’s story. For those who would like to be somewhat involved, that’s ok too! Then, others just want to watch. This is also welcome. Throughout the day, the inhabitants of Calico embody the spirit of hospitality as they welcome guests to their town.
Over in the Bird Cage Theater, Miss Cameo Kate’s Western Burle-Q Revue brings music, dancing, and humor to the stage. This show has a collection of classic tunes, live singing and dancing, and even can-can girls! This is a thoroughly enjoyable show that also happens to be a great way to get out of the heat of the day.
As the day wraps up, all of the inhabitants of Calico and their newfound friends parade over to Calico Park for the hoedown! This is a fun conclusion to the day, that also has live music, dancing, and the wrap-up of the Founder’s Day story.
Throughout the day during Ghost Town Alive! at Knott’s Berry Farm, there are many other offerings to enjoy as well. The food at Knott’s is always a hit. There are some specialty items this year. The Daps Magic team found the salads to be quite enjoyable for lunch on a warm summer afternoon! Other offerings were equally delicious, including some specialty desserts.
The rides at Knott’s Berry Farm are also a lot of fun. If looking to keep with the Ghost Town Alive! theme, definitely take some time to go for a ride on the steam train at Knott’s Berry Farm. This narrow-gauge train has been in operation since 1952 at Knott’s Berry Farm. There are also shops to enjoy wandering and shopping in throughout Ghost Town. For those who also want to see some farm animals, stop by the livery stable!
Summer at Knott’s Berry Farm is a great place to be. There is something for just about everyone. There will also be 4th of July fireworks for those who celebrate Independence Day at the Farm. This is a place for families to celebrate summer with fun in the sun.
