The Disney Adventure has reached another milestone on its path to joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet. When it does join the fleet, this massive new ship will be sailing out of Singapore. Currently, the ship is still in Papenberg, Germany. There, the stern characters have been revealed as they are lifted into place on the ship.
The stern characters for the Disney Adventure are Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse. This is the first time that this magical duo has appeared on one of the Disney Cruise Line ships as sculptures. The new ship also has Mickey Mouse on the filigree on its bow. Take a look at this picture that the Disney Cruise Line shared of the stern sculpture being lifted into place:

Disney shared the following about this stern sculpture being installed:
The Disney Adventure reached another Disney Cruise Line milestone today as the stern characters, the oversized Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, took their place on the back of the ship.
The 18-foot-tall and 12-foot-wide anchor fixture was carefully lifted by the Meyer Wismar shipyard team using cranes before being bolted to the ship’s stern. This Disney Cruise Line tradition adds an extra touch of magic to the exterior, as different beloved Disney characters can be found on the stern of each ship across the fleet. The Disney Adventure is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to feature the captains as the stern characters.
The Walt Disney Imagineering team included some can’t-miss details on the incredible statue, from the dripping yellow filigree paint to the bows adorned to Captain Minnie’s shoes.
As you can see, the characters are in their iconic captain looks, hard at work putting the final touches on the ship’s stern filigree with their larger-than-life paint brushes.
The Disney Adventure will join the Disney Cruise Line fleet in Singapore for its maiden voyage on December 15, 2025. This will be shortly after the Disney Destiny, a Wish-class ship themed to “heroes and villains,” joins the fleet.
The Disney Adventure, formerly the Global Dream, was purchased by Disney in 2022. It is a Global-class ship and will sail out of Singapore for at least five years. The ship is being constructed by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.
The Disney Adventure will offer sailings that are full of magic. This includes a Captain Jack Sparrow show, a Marvel Style Studio, a Disney Princess tea, a Duffy and Friends show and store, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and a whole lot more. All of Daps Magic’s coverage and details about this ship can be found on our Disney Adventure page.
