On Friday, May 9, 2025, The Muppets celebrated their official 70th anniversary. 70 years ago, Kermit and friends made their first appearance on Sam and Friends. Kermit had been built by Jim Henson out of an old coat and a ping-pong ball for eyes. Now, seven decades later, Kermit the Frog and The Muppets have appeared in their own shows, other series, movies, programs, and on stages of all sizes around the globe.
As part of the 70th anniversary celebration, Kermit the Frog took to social media to share how to celebrate 70 years of The Muppets by watching 70 hours of Muppet programming on Disney+. Below is a look at the video where Kermit shared this idea, and how to do it. This will be followed by a breakdown of exactly what Kermit suggested.
