On this day in 1990 the “Here Come the Muppets” stage show opened at Disney-MGM Studios in Walt Disney World. The Muppets appeared as full-size walk around characters instead of their puppet form. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Bean Bunny, and The Electric Mayhem all had roles in the show, with the latter showing up late for their call times. A video pre-show featured Rowlf playing the piano and Sam Eagle interrupting. [35 years ago in 2025]
