On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, it’s a small world will reopen at the Disneyland Resort. This is the original version of the attraction that first debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair. It moved to Disneyland in 1966 after the World’s Fair closed. Since then, it has offered guests the chance to experience the happiest cruise that ever sailed. Through the years, the attraction has been updated. One of the updates saw some of the most beloved characters from The Walt Disney Company making appearances as dolls in the attraction.
This spring, the attraction underwent a multi-month-long refurbishment. One of the things that was teased for the return of this attraction was the addition of Miguel and his alebrije, Dante. Both characters are from Pixar Animation Studios’ film Coco. Ahead of the reopening of the attraction on May 13th, Disney has shared a look at what these two will look like when guests float by. Check out the photo that was released by Disney here:
This isn’t the only update coming to it’s a small world this year, however. On July 17th, a third verse to the beloved tune will be added to the attraction. The verse was written by Disney Legend Richard Sherman before he passed. The verse debuted during a beautiful panel honoring his life and legacy at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last year.
For comparison, here is a look at what the attraction was like in 2024 before it was converted to it’s a small world Holiday.
