The adorable BDX droids are making their way to different Disney parks as a part of their global tour. Recently, the droids were seen at Tokyo Disneyland. Their next stop is Disneyland Paris. Today, it was announced that these lovable droids will be arriving at Disneyland Paris on May 4th. They will remain at Disneyland Paris through May 24th. It would be very possible that this next stop will be Walt Disney World Resort.
The announcement about the dates for the droids at Disneyland Paris was made on the following social media post:
These BDX droids first appeared at Disneyland in the fall of 2023. Since then, they returned to Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during Season of the Force last year and then appeared at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
During The Future of World-Building at Disney panel at SXSW, it was revealed that these little free-standing and personality-filled droids will be appearing in The Mandalorian and Grogu. During their world tour, they also appeared at Star Wars Celebration Japan last month.
The technology that brings these droids to life is nothing short of magical. They learn how to walk and interact via a virtual simulator. They then learn to walk physically, and each has its own distinct personality and name. The whole process really is incredible and was shown to Daps Magic on a visit to Walt Disney Imagineering in 2024. The droids continue to be modified and improved. Imagineers learn from their experiences to make these droids more durable, have more character, and be able to do more.
