At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last summer, it was revealed that a new water ride will be coming to Disney Adventure World (currently Walt Disney Studios) at Disneyland Paris. This new attraction will take guests through the story of The Lion King. On Thursday, March 21, 2025, during The Walt Disney Company 2025 Annual Shareholder Meeting, Disney CEO Bob Iger gave another look at this attraction. This was a much larger look than had been seen before, even if it was a quick one.

The new attraction, Iger said, will take guests through the story as Simba goes from “cub to king.” The video that was shown during the shareholder meeting showed a ride that is reminiscent of the system used for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Atop Pride Rock, Simba can be seen standing.
A Look at the Model

Looking closer, the true size of this attraction can be seen. It looks like it will be massive. The drop, much like seen in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is found at the base of Pride Rock, two-thirds of the way up the hill/mountain.

This looks like it will truly be a spectacular attraction and will also change the skyline of Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.

The Premise
The story for this attraction is based on the 1994 animated classic The Lion King. This film was a hit and spawned off a franchise that has included sequels, stage productions, a live-action remake, a live-action prequel, merchandise, and a whole lot more. It has a fantastic collection of songs and a great soundtrack. It is unknown how much of the music will be put into this attraction.
Expansion
The new attraction based on The Lion King is part of a massive $2 billion expansion of Disneyland Paris. This includes the transformation of Walt Disney Studios into Disney Adventure World. At this point, the attraction hasn’t gone verticle and a timeline hasn’t been revealed for when it will be opening. It may be several years before this attraction opens for guests to experience.
