After Major Casting Announcement for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ Marvel Teases More Could Be Coming!

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Marvel fans spent almost five and a half hours watching the livestream cast reveal for Avengers: Doomsday. This was done by revealing cast member names one director’s chair at a time. The full list can be seen here.

After the announcement, Robert Downey Jr. posted a comment on his Instagram saying: “That’s what u call a deep bench of talent… actually it’s more like a row, but an extra long one… That must be it…right?”

This comment garnered hundreds of replies within the hour. One of the replies came from Marvel Studios: “@robertdowneyjr there’s always room for more…”

The Russo Brothers then added, “It’s time…”

While not an outright announcement that more cast members will be announced for Avengers: Doomsday, it does seem that there is a distinct possibility that this will happen. When and how could be the next question that fans will be looking for!

Along with the casting announcements yesterday, Marvel Studios also announced that the film has gone into production. Avengers: Doomsday will be arriving exclusively in theaters on May 1, 2026. Four-time Marvel directors Anthony and Joe Russo return to direct this film. They will also be directing Avengers: Secret Wars. This film will be arriving in theaters on May 7, 2027.
