On this day in 1955, the first Disneyland-themed float took part in the 66th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade. Spectators got a special preview of Disney’s new park, which would open in July. The float was entitled “There is a Good Time Coming” and was decked out in 7,000 pink roses. It featured a floral version of Sleeping Beauty Castle and early concept for the Dumbo attraction with suspended pink elephants. The float won the Judges Special Award! [70 years ago in 2025]
