On this day in 1949, character actor Bill Nighy was born. Disney fans will remember him as Davy Jones in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.’ For Disney, he also appeared in ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ and ‘G-Force.’ Nighy began acting on the stage in 1969 and moved to British TV and films in 1976. Nighy won a BAFTA for his supporting role in ‘Love Actually,’ one of his most famous parts. [75 years ago in 2024]
