Todd Stashwick recently played Captain Shaw in the third season of Star Trek: Picard. Fans of the actor will be excited to learn that he is now heading from the worlds of Star Trek to the worlds of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of Stashwick’s being cast as an assassin who is pursuing the android Vision and the technology he possesses.
The casting of Stashwick in Vision has him reuniting with Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas. He also worked with Matalas in 12 Monkeys. Matalas has taken on the same role for the upcoming Vision series. He was invited to take on the project after Kevin Feige saw the third season of Picard.
The Vision series will see Paul Bettany returning to the role of Vision. He will be joined by James Spader, who is returning to once again play Ultron.
Vision initially was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. In WandaVision, he was recreated by Wand Maximoff’s magic as she grieved his loss and created a world of her own. This version of Vision ended up facing off against White Vision in the series. White Vision was created by S.W.O.R.D. after Vision’s body was recovered from Wakanda. After the two Visions battled, White Vision’s memories were returned and he flew off. Wanda’s Vision, however, faded away when she dropped her Hex over Westview.
At this point, it is expected that this series will begin shooting sometime in early 2025 in England.
