On this day in 2014, the album ‘The Legacy Collection: Mary Poppins’ was released by Walt Disney Records. Its publication was timed to honor the 50th anniversary of the film. The 3-CD set included the full soundtrack, pre-demos (both the original Sherman Brothers demos and new recordings), as well as story meetings with author P. L. Travers and reminiscences of Richard and Robert Sherman. The cover was a bound book that told the story behind the music. [10 years ago in 2024]
