On this day in 2004, ‘Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers’ was released direct to home video. An encounter with the heroic Royal Musketeers inspires street urchins Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy to greater things. The trio match wits with the villains Peg-Leg Pete and the Beagle Boys to protect Princess Minnie Mouse and her reign. The film’s story was inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ original novel, but is not a true adaptation. [20 years ago in 2024]
