Progress continues to be made on the new establishments coming to Downtown Disney District on the west end. Soon, guests will be able to enjoy Din Tai Fung and the Parkside Market. As the work continues, walls now share about the history of Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. This historical look at the area goes back way before Downtown Disney District was a thing and starts in the 1950s.
Daps Magic team member Angela stopped by over the weekend to check out the progress and document a point in time. Check out the video and photos below that show how Downtown Disney District is coming along. You can also see the history of Downtown Disney District as well.
Din Tai Fung has been eagerly anticipated ever since it was announced to be coming to Downtown Disney District. Disney announced that the restaurant will be opening this summer. When it does, the Michelin-awarded restaurant brand from Taiwan, will offer their signature soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), wontons, noodles, steamed buns, bok choy, pork chop fried rice and other flavorful dishes served family style.
When it opens, Parkside Market will include Seoul Sister, a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls); Sip & Sonder serving lattes, fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites; GG’s Chicken Shop with chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides; and a second story bar with great views of the district to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails paired with tantalizing appetizers.
