During its annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, Disney shared a new look at Moana 2. The image shows Moana paddling out on her canoe into the sea with a look of determination on her face. In this sequel to the hit animated musical, Auli‘i Cravalho returns to lend her voice to Moana and Dwayne Johnson returns to voice Maui. The film will be arriving in theaters on November 27, 2024.
Disney also shared new details about this film. The following description for Moana 2 was released during the meeting:
In Walt Disney Animation Studios’ all-new epic animated musical, Moana 2, three years since her first voyage, Moana is on an expansive journey in search of people beyond the shores of Motunui.
Joined by Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Featuring the voices of Auli‘i Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Moana 2 opens in theaters November 27, 2024.
