After winning Super Bowl LVIII in overtime, MVP Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and his family declared “We’re going to Disneyland! In fact, he and his family are heading to Disneyland again! This marks the second year that the Mahomes family will be celebrating a Super Bowl win at the Disneyland Resort. It also continues a tradition that goes all the way back to 1987. The first time a variation of this statement was made was after Super Bowl XXI. After the game, New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms was asked, “Now that you’ve won the Super Bowl, Phil Simms, what are you going to do?” Simms replied, “I’m going to Disney World!” Once again, it was Mahomes’ chance to share he was going to Disney after the big win. This makes it the third time he has gotten to be in this iconic commercial.
This tradition continues today with players declaring they are going to either Walt Disney World or Disneyland. In this case, the winners are headed to Disneyland on Monday, February 12, 2024, for a special celebration. Just like in previous years, there will be a cavalcade and some other special moments that will happen at Disneyland to celebrate the big win. The cavalcade will be happening at Disneyland at 2:00 PM. It will start at it’s a small world and make its way down to Main Street, USA.
Last year, Patrick Mahomes was the MVP of the Super Bowl and celebrated at Disneyland a day after winning the big game. He brought his wife Brittany, daughter Sterling Skye, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, to The Happiest Place on Earth to celebrate. Together they were able to experience Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and other offerings at the Disneyland Resort as The Walt Disney Company began its celebration of its 100th anniversary that had begun just weeks before.
Part of the day included a cavalcade with Mahomes, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and others along the parade route. Fans cheered and confetti floated down Main Street, USA as the big win was celebrated. Daps Magic was on hand to film this cavalcade and it can be seen here:

PRESS RELEASE
Patrick Mahomes Hits the Super Bowl Jackpot with NFL Championship and Celebratory Trip to Disneyland Resort
Patrick Mahomes named Super Bowl MVP, is featured in Disney’s popular “I’m Going to Disneyland!’’ TV commercial for the third time, which is also airing in Spanish following Sunday’s NFL championship game; Mahomes is making the magical trip to Disneyland Resort on Monday to celebrate the big win
PARADISE, NV (Feb. 11, 2024)– As the euphoria of Kansas City’s Super Bowl win continued to swirl around Allegiant Stadium near Las Vegas on Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes once again made that jubilant declaration that has become so iconic after every Super Bowl victory: “I’m Going to Disneyland!’’ This is the third time Mahomes has been named Super Bowl MVP and the third time he has been featured in the famous commercial.
Mahomes’s post-game proclamation is the centerpiece of Disney’s annual Super Bowl commercial airing on major TV networks and social media sites nationwide in English and Spanish.
But that on-field moment is just the beginning of the celebration. The Super Bowl festivities are moving to Disneyland Resort in California on Monday where Mahomes will be the leading man in a colorful and high-energy cavalcade through Disneyland Park. Guests at the park can catch all of the action as the celebratory cavalcade moves down Main Street, U.S.A., at 2 pm PT.
Afterwards, Mahomes will spend the afternoon with family and friends experiencing the park’s most popular attractions, interacting with beloved Disney characters and generally having a super-sized Disney experience.
It’s the most magical way for Mahomes to celebrate his team’s Super Bowl title. He led the Chiefs to a 25-22 overtime win over San Francisco in the biggest game of the year. Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP for the third time after throwing the game winning touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman with three seconds left in overtime. His 333 passing yards and two passing touchdowns catapulted his team to the win and launched him into the annals of Disney’s Super Bowl history with his inclusion in the national TV spot and Disneyland Resort trip.
Mahomes is once again joining a long list of other NFL heavyweights who have been a part of Disney’s long-standing Super Bowl tradition that began in 1987 when New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms first appeared in the commercial following his team’s Super Bowl win.
