Today it was announced that characters from Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red will be debuting at the Disneyland Resort during this year’s Lunar New Year celebration. The news was made on the Magic Key instagram channel. Meilin Lee and her mother Ming Lee will both be meeting with guests who visit Disney California Adventure during the Lunar New Year Celebration. This celebration will be running at Disney California Adventure from January 23 through February 18, 2024.
Concept art of the mother and daughter pair show how they love observing Chinese traditions together. 13-year-old Meilin is also excited that she has begun to turn into her Red Panda Form. If the concept art is accurate, Meilin Lee and her mother Ming Lee will be meeting with guests on the side of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure near the entrance to Grizzly Peak.
The Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure honors Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean traditions. It includes incredible entertainment (including Mulan’s Lunar New Year Processional), food, merchandise, decorations, and other experiences that bring to life these different cultures for those visiting the Disneyland Resort.
