Tokyo Disney Resort Announces New Nighttime Spectacular for 2024

The Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that it will be debuting a new nighttime spectacular on September 20, 2024. This new show will utilize projection mapping technology on Cinderella Castle along with lighting, pyrotechnics, and special effects. Disney shared that these show elements will be a part of bringing many beloved characters to life “as they soar through the night sky in pursuit of their dreams.”

Along with all of the visual effects, there will also be Disney music to accompany all that is seen on the castle and in the night sky. There will also be Marvel characters represented for the first time at Tokyo Disney Resort in a show. This is a show that will bring guests along into the stories that are being told as they see Disney, Pixar, and Marvel friends on the castle, along with the effects surrounding the castle.

Disney released concept art for this new show. While not a lot of details have been shared about the show yet, there are some fun things to be found in the artwork. This includes characters like Hercules, Mary Poppins, Dumbo and Timothy Mouse, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Woody and Buzz, the Up house, Aladdin and Jasmine, WALL-E and Eve, and of course Tinker Bell. Take a look at the concept art here:

This new show will replace the current firework spectacular that is shown in the skies over the Tokyo Disney Resort. The current show, Sky Full of Colors, can be seen from both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. This show was created for Tokyo Disney Resort’s 40th anniversary. Daps Magic filmed it in 2023 and it can be seen here:

It is unknown if the new show will be able to be watched and have music playing in both parks at this point. What do you think of Tokyo Disney Resort getting a new nighttime spectacular? What are you most hoping will be in this show? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
