Charter’s Spectrum TV Select Customers Now Get Disney+ Basic

Starting today, Charter’s Spectrum TV Select customers are able to access Disney+ Basic. This is the version of Disney+ with ads and comes at no additional charge for all of Charter’s Spectrum TV Select packages. This gives Spectrum customers access to all of the Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, and National Geographic programming that is found on Disney’s streaming service.

“With the launch of the Disney+ Basic offer, TV Select customers can now enjoy access to Disney’s popular streaming content as well as their high-quality linear TV channels, all included as part of one video package,” said Tom Montemagno, Executive Vice President, Programming Acquisition for Charter. “As the video industry continues to evolve, we are committed to including direct-to-consumer apps like Disney+ with Spectrum services while providing a simplified TV viewing experience through platforms such as the Xumo Stream Box. We are pleased to partner with Disney to further this goal to the benefit of our mutual customers.”

Disney+ is the streaming home for The Walt Disney Company. Since being launched in 2019, programming has been added every month to the streaming service. Most recently, titles like Percy and the Olympians and Doctor Who have arrived on Disney+. Marvel Studios’ Echo, more Doctor Who, Star Wars: The Acolyte, and Disney’s theatrical releases will also be arriving as well.

“The inclusion of Disney+ alongside a curated lineup of our TV channels brings the best of both worlds from Disney’s unrivaled entertainment portfolio to Charter’s video customers,” said Justin Connolly, President, Platform Distribution, The Walt Disney Company. “Our goal has always been to meet consumers where they are, and these collective offerings will maximize value for Spectrum TV Select customers while simultaneously broadening the audience of our advertiser supported streaming services.”

For customers of Spectrum TV who want to either learn more or activate their Disney+ Basic subscription, simply visit spectrum.com/cp/disney-plus. Customers who already have a Disney+ subscription can go to the website or app where they purchased Disney+ and manage their subscription to receive the full benefit of their Spectrum-provided service.

Disney+ Basic is not the only offering from The Walt Disney Company coming to Charter. ESPN+ will soon also be included in its Spectrum TV Select Plus video package. This will be coming in the next few months.
