Christmas is just a few days away. Ahead of the arrival of this jolly holiday, Disney has shared photos of Christmas celebrations past. Many of these include Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Others show traditions that continue today. All of them are from the Walt Disney World Resort. Take a look at these special and memorable photos that go on a Christmas journey through the years here:
The first Christmas photo at Walt Disney World Resort shows Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the parade in 1976 on Main Street, USA. This photo is shared as the Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade! celebrates 40 years of Christmas magic. This year’s parade will air ABC on Monday, Dec. 25 (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. PT) and stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+. It will feature Mickey, Minnie and other favorite Disney characters making their traditional appearances at Walt Disney World Resort along with outstanding musical performances, also filmed at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i and aboard Disney Cruise Line.
The next picture shows the iconic Toy Soldiers playing trumpets and drums on Main Street, USA during the Christmas parade. If you look closely in the background you can see Cinderella Castle and also Mickey Mouse with Minnie Mouse on their float.

Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck celebrate Christmas at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in 1983. The group was dressed as Bob Cratchit, Mrs. Cratchit, Nephew Fred and Ebenezer Scrooge. This was fitting as Mickey’s Christmas Carol debuted in the U.S. on Dec. 16, 1983.
This photo from 1972 shows Mickey Mouse on Santa’s sleigh with a couple of his reindeer at Walt Disney World Resort.
In 1971, this incredible Christmas tree graced the lobby of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This tree had nearly 20 levels that towered in the lobby with a star on top of it.
This towering poinsettia tree was found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa during Christmastime in 1992. This lobby tree was created out of maroon, white, and pink poinsettias. There were also glowing candles and cherubs decorating the poinsettias swirl pattern that was found throughout the tree.

In this photo from the 1990s, Pluto is bringing magic and some light for guests at Walt Disney World Resort. It appears this photo is from Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a special Christmas moment.
