The Mark Twain at Tokyo Disneyland is an attraction that is very similar but different than the original version of the attraction at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. While it mostly looks the same, there are some subtle differences between the two steamboats. The Rivers of America are also a bit different. One of the more notable differences is that they are found in Westernland in Tokyo Disneyland. At Disneyland, they are in Frontierland. On November 24, 2023, we took took some time to experience this attraction.
Initially, the main difference noticed on the Mark Twain was the color of the paddle wheel of the steamboat in Tokyo was red. Looking closer, there were other differences to be found as well. One big one is that the stairs all come send people toward the center of the ship (from the front and back) when people come down them. There are also wooden gates that close off the bow at times, presumably for safety. The ride itself is very similar, but different, from the version in Anaheim. The differences can be seen in the video below.
