Sindbad's Storybook Voyage

Sunday Spotlight: Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage

Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage is a dark ride attraction located at Tokyo DisneySea at Tokyo Disney Resort. The ride takes visitors on a magical journey through the adventures of Sindbad the Sailor, a character from the collection of Middle Eastern folktales known as One Thousand and One Nights.

The boatride takes guests on an enchanting and visually stunning voyage through various scenes that depict Sindbad’s various adventures. The ride is renowned for its intricate and elaborate set designs, as well as its use of animatronic characters and advanced audio-visual effects to bring the story to life. Visitors encounter Sindbad, his loyal tiger companion Chandu, and a cast of colorful characters and creatures as they sail through mystical landscapes, encounter dangers, and witness moments of triumph.

The attraction is known for its catchy and memorable theme song, Compass of Your Heart, which is sung in both Japanese and English. It was written by Disney Legend Alan Menken. To say it is catchy is an understatement as it definitely gets stuck in your head as you exit the attraction and beyond. The combination of captivating storytelling, beautiful visuals, and an unforgettable soundtrack makes Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage a delightful and immersive experience for guests of all ages, celebrating the spirit of adventure and exploration. It’s a must-visit for those exploring Tokyo DisneySea as it offers a unique and heartwarming take on classic storytelling.

When I visited Tokyo DisneySea for the first time earlier this week, Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage was one of the attractions I was able to experience. It was absolutely delightful and full of creativity. Below is a video I shot of the attraction as we floated through Sinbad’s adventures. I hope you enjoy it!
