Rogers: The Musical officially opens on June 30, 2023. This new musical is sure to be a favorite and there are three main ways to be able to see it this summer during its limited run. The first is by securing a seat utilizing the virtual queue (Daps Magic guide for how to do this is here). The second is taking the risk that there MIGHT be a seat available that is decent via the standby at the Hyperion Theater. The third is through the Premium Viewing Experience. Daps Magic researched the details on this so that guests can know what they are getting into when experiencing Rogers: The Musical in this way. Check out this guide below for utilizing this offering.
Here are the details that should be known if wanting to experience Rogers: The Musical in this way:
- The price for the Rogers: The Musical Premium Viewing Experience is $29. The total is $31.25 after tax and no discounts are available.
- It can only be purchased in person at the Studio Catering Co. truck near the restrooms to the left of the Hyperion Theater. On opening day, the registers and queue space at Hollywood Lounge were used instead of the Studio Catering Co.
- Premium Viewing Experience will go on sale at 8:00 AM. Guests should plan to enter the Disney California Adventure as early as possible in advance of the official opening and wait at the rope on Hollywood Boulevard. Those on the far left side (to the left of the trolley tracks) will be funneled into the queue. Those on the right side will only have access to area attractions.
- All guests who wish to purchase the Premium Viewing Experience package must be in the queue at the time it opens at 8:00 AM. Packages may not be purchased for guests who are not in the queue.
- There is no limit to the amount of Premium Viewing Experience packages that may be purchased in a single transaction, as long as all of those individuals are present at the time of purchase.
- Each guest will receive a credential lanyard and wristband at the time of purchase. Both items are needed to redeem the package and be seated for the show.
- Each show will have 100 seats available for the Rogers: The Musical Premium Viewing Experience.
- Tickets are first come, first serve.
- There will be a sign at the Studio Catering Co. truck showing what shows still have availability. Showtimes that are no longer available will be removed from the sign. On opening day, shows sold out in order from earliest to latest. All shows sold out in less than one hour.
- Disneyland Resort Hotel guests have Early Entry into Disney California Adventure from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM, which includes early access to the Premium Viewing Experience queue. On opening day, this led to the first show of the day (12:30 PM) selling out within five minutes.
- The Rogers: The Musical Premium Viewing Experience includes a Rogers popcorn bucket with red, white, and blue popcorn and also a choice of a bottled Coca-Cola beverage. On opening day, these items were received after check-in, not at the time of purchase.
- Premium Viewing Experience packages may be redeemed with a Cast Member at Stage 12, between Hollywood Lounge and the Studio Catering Co. truck. Guests do not return to the Hyperion Theater main entrance.
- The package includes access to a special lounge area, which is found at the Stage 12 check-in location. Guests may return as early as 90 minutes before showtime to enter the lounge, take included PhotoPass pictures at a themed photo opportunity, and receive the popcorn bucket and bottled beverage.
- Approximately 30 minutes before showtime, guests will form a queue on the south side of the lounge area in preparation to be seated for the show. A cast member will take guests through a backstage passageway into the Hyperion Theater.
- Guests may select any seat of their choice that is not marked with a “reserved” sign. The group is led into the Orchestra section, but Mezzanine seats are also available. Shortly after all Premium Viewing Experience participants find their seats, the general audience is admitted to the theater.
With the number of seats that will be available for each show, please bring patience and kindness when attempting to purchase the Rogers: The Musical Premium Viewing Experience. Everyone else that will be in line to purchase this will be hoping for the same thing as you will be. The cast members are also going to be doing their very best to make everyone happy. If things don’t go exactly as you hope, keep kind and remember there is still the opportunity for the virtual queue and then the standby line if need be.
