Magic Key sales resumed today at the Disneyland Resort. The resumption of sales for Magic Keys come just as the Disneyland Resort is gearing up into its holiday season. This also comes ahead of the Disney100 celebration next year. The Magic Key program replaced the Annual Pass program that had existed at the Disneyland Resort for decades. It was introduced in 2021 after the Disneyland Reopened from its pandemic closure. The sales of Magic Key keys were limited and sales of all levels of Magic Keys were paused in May. Now, this is changing as they again go on sale.
Guests visiting the Magic Key portion of Disneyland.com found a notification saying that the queue to purchase Magic Keys would be opening soon. Disneyland shared with some media groups that sales would be opening no earlier than 9:00 AM on November 16, 2022.
The Magic Key that will be sold is the second iteration of the program. Details about this version of the program were revealed in August 2022. At the time, only renewals of Magic Keys were offered and not new sales. New Magic Keys can now be purchased on the Disneyland Resort website here.

Magic Key sales are subject to availability and it is very possible that sales could be paused once again. Magic Keys become active the first time they are used at the Disneyland Resort. They can be purchased now and then activated later if a guest isn’t wanting to head to the Disneyland Resort right away. That activation will then be the renewal date as well. Keep that in mind when budgeting if not using the monthly payment plan. Guests can also upgrade a partially used ticket to a Magic Key as well. This can be done through the Disneyland App. This is a new feature that requires the app to be updated. Unused tickets can also be upgraded but this must be done at the Disneyland Resort ticket booths. It is a good idea to upgrade a ticket on the last valid day so as not to lose reservations.
As is the case with all passes and tickets now, reservations are required to visit the parks at the Disneyland Resort. These are subject to availability and should be made ahead of a visit to the parks. More details about the Magic Key system can be found on the Disneyland website.
