Disney+ Announces Release Date for Full “The Muppet Christmas Carol” With Long Lost Song Included

Earlier this year at the D23 Expo it was announced that the full version of The Muppet Christmas Carol would be released this holiday season on Disney+. This came during the panel The Muppet Christmas Carol – 30 Year Retrospective. The panel was hosted by Nina West and included special appearances by Gonzo, Kermit, Miss Piggy, Robin, Fozzie, and other Muppets. At the end of the panel they performed a medley of music from this Christmas classic.

The panel also included a conversation led by West with Brian Henson, Paul Williams, Dave Goelz, and Polly Smith. During this discussion, it was revealed that the long lost song When Love is Gone has been found. It was also revealed that a version of the movie with the song included would be released on Disney+ this year, just in time for the holidays. Following the announcement, Disney Legend Jodi Benson sang this beautiful song.

Today, Disney+ announced that this will be happening on December 9th. To watch this version of The Muppet Christmas Carol, fans will need to go to the extras page for the film on Disney+. There, they will find the full version of the movie with When Love is Gone included. For many fans of The Muppets this is the ultimate Christmas gift that has been longed after for many years.
