Disney+ is releasing more looks at Cars on the Road in honor of Lightning McQueen Day, or 9-5 for Lightning’s No. 95. The series will debut on Disney+ on Disney+ Day later this week. The different looks include photos, a three-minute clip from the third episode called Salt Fever, the opening credits from the series, and also the Cars on the Road soundtrack is now available! Cars on the Road follows Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and his best friend Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister.
Cars on the Road is produced by Marc Sondheimer. Series episodes 1, 2, and 8 are directed by Steve Purcell. Bobby Podesta directs episodes 5, 6, and 9. Episodes 3, 4, and 7 were directed by Brian Fee. Jake Monaco composed the score for all nine episodes. This is featured on the Cars on the Road soundtrack that was released by Walt Disney Records.
The soundtrack was released today and features 79 musicians and 17 singers. It also showcases multiple memorable moments from the series. This includes the full theme song and also Trucks and Brain on Wheels.
Disney+ Day is on Thursday, September 8, 2022. This is just ahead of the D23 Expo in Anaheim. Disney+ Day will include special experiences for both fans and subscribers. It will also premiere new content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.
