Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Anniversary fireworks, Disney Enchantment has been updated. Tonight a new introduction debuted for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. This new introduction has Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney, and Roy Disney. It adds a healthy additional dose of Disney magic and nostalgia to the beginning of the fireworks show.
The new intro lasts about two minutes. It talks about the origins of Walt Disney World Resort referencing Disneyland and the New York World’s Fair, followed by Walt sharing his dream about what would become Walt Disney World. This is followed by a medley of classic Magic Kingdom attractions and culminates with Roy Disney dedicating Walt Disney World.
“Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney … and to the talents, the dedication and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney’s dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring joy and inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place … a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn – together. Dedicated this 25th day of October, 1971”
– Roy Disney
The intro concludes with Mickey Mouse saying, “Oh boy! This place sure is swell! Some folks like to say that it all started with a dream. But, you wanna know what makes this place really special? It’s you! Each and every one of you! Anytime you set foot here, you leave this place brighter than it was before because you are the magic!”
Following this intro, the show moves forward into the traditional show. Disney released a video that shows highlights of the updated Disney Enchantment fireworks spectacular.
