The Los Angeles Rams celebrated their Super Bowl LVI win by going to Disneyland on Monday. After saying “I’m going to Disneyland!” after the big game yesterday, they made good on their word and arrived at the Happiest Place on Earth today to celebrate their big win.
At 1:15 PM a celebratory cavalcade stepped off at it’s a small world and made its way down the parade route. Fans begin to line the parade route well before the cavalcade began. By the time the cavalcade began, the entire parade route was packed.
The energy continued to build as fans waited for the cavalcade to begin. At 1:15 PM, the voice of Bill Rogers could be heard proclaiming the arrival of Super Bowl LVI winning team the Los Angeles Rams and MVP Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, and Matthew Stafford. The football players were led by Disneyland dancers and several Disney characters. Mickey Mouse joined the players on top of a float at the end of the cavalcade.
Once the cavalcade made its way onto Main Street, USA confetti began to fly. Halfway down the street, the cavalcade stopped so the players could be asked a few questions by another announcer on the street. All of Main Street was packed with fans, many wearing Rams jerseys or other merchandise, all trying to get a glimpse of the Super Bowl winners.
The tradition of winning football players shouting “I’m going to Disneyland!” after winning the Super Bowl dates back to 1987. It was then that New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms shouted the proclamation and started a Disney tradition of heading to Disney after the big game.
