Hayden Christensen is going to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker. The Hollywood Reporter broke the story saying that he will be appearing in Ahsoka, a Star Wars live-action series that is being made for Disney+.
While there isn’t a lot known about this film, it is known that Rosario Dawson will be portraying Ahsoka, a role she had in The Mandalorian. Plot details aren’t known for this series. Dave Filoni is the one writing the series. He will also be executive producing, along with Jon Favreau. The two have worked previously together on The Mandalorian.
With the scarcity of details about this series, what exactly Christensen will be doing as Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader is completely unknown as well. It also isn’t known if this will be something that utilizes flashbacks to a time when Ahsoka was Anakin’s padawan or perhaps some live-action encounters between Ahsoka and Darth Vader. There is also the possibility that he could be portraying a Force Ghost version of Anakin Skywalker.
Production on Ahsoka is expected to begin in 2022. This will mark the second time that Christensen will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker since he appeared in the prequel Star Wars movies. Last year it was announced the Christensen would be returning to the role and joining Ewan McGregor in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series for Disney+.
