On Sunday, August 29, 2021, some of the DAPS MAGIC team made their way into the parks to enjoy being Magic Key holders for the first time since the program became available. It was a lovely day that was full of magic, music, and photography. It was not a day of attractions. Instead, the team just enjoyed being in the parks, enjoying being back, and not having an agenda.
The day began with the Mickey and Friends Cavalcade coming down Main Street, USA right as the team entered the parks. This was followed a short time later by a Frozen cavalcade.
Shortly after the cavalcades, the Disneyland Band made its way up and down Main Street, USA with some Disney character friends. This was followed by another Frozen cavalcade, a moment with the Evil Queen, and some other characters before heading over to Disney California Adventure.
The next stop was Disney California Adventure. The entrance was in process of getting ready for Halloween Time. As the night turned into evening, the team wandered around and captured photos of Buena Vista Street, Avengers Campus and Cars Land. While heading out, it was discovered that a lot of the lights were out at the entrance of Avengers Campus which made for a much different look. Cast Members were around with flashlights helping guests navigate the darkness.
Heading back to Disneyland, it was time to find a place for fireworks. This week, the Rivers of America was decided upon. It was a nice and quiet place to watch the fireworks and the view was beautiful.
After fireworks, it was time for a stroll through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge before wandering through Fantasyland and back to Main Street, USA to say goodnight to the Happiest Place on Earth! Mickey and friends were on hand to say goodnight.
The first day returning to Disneyland as Magic Key holders was absolutely wonderful. One extra perk is that Magic Key holders could get a free PhotoPass photo behind Sleeping Beauty Castle. It was a magic shot with Mr. Toad. Seeing that Mr. Toad is one of the most dapper of Disney characters, this was definitely a must for me to get a photo with.
