Space 220, the out-of-this-world restaurant that is coming to EPCOT, will be opening in mid-September. The restaurant is located next to Mission: SPACE and will take “fine dining to a whole new level,” the Disney Parks Blog shared this morning. Quite literally.
Guests will enter and check into a lounge from Future World first. They will then travel aboard one of the two “Space Elevators” up 220 miles above the Earth to Centauri Space Station. During the trip up to the station, guests will be able to look through a portal in the center of the “Space Elevator” to see EPCOT and then the Earth disappearing below them. This could be a nod back to previous attractions like Rocket to the Moon and Mission to Mars.
Once aboard the Centauri Space Station, guests will head into the dining room where they will get panoramic views of the Earth below. There fantastic views will also be accompanied by a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch, and a three-course prix fixe menu for dinner. There will also be some unique and themed beverages on hand that range from fine wine to atmospheric cocktails and other options.
A look at Space 220 was shared on social media this morning as well. Check it out here:
Space 220 is just one more milestone on the continued transformation happening at EPCOT. It will also be a part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration. What do you think of what you are seeing of this new restaurant so far? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
