Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Cast Announced Ahead of Starting Shooting in April

Today Disney+ announced that Obi-Wan Kenobi, a special event series, will begin shooting in April! Along with the announcement that shooting will begin next month, the cast was also revealed.

That cast is led by Ewan McGregor who is returning to his Star Wars role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Hayden Christensen will also be returning to the Star Wars universe and reprise the role of Darth Vader. Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie will also be a part of the cast.

The story for this series takes place 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenges of the Sith. This is where “Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi is directed by Deborah Chow, who directed two of the first season episodes of The Mandalorian. It is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and writer Joby Harold. Carmen Cuba is the casting director.

When completed, Obin-Wan Kenobi will be distributed exclusively on Disney+.
