Patrick Dempsey is returning to play the role of Robert that he originally played alongside Amy Adams in Enchanted for its sequel Disenchanted. Dempsey confirmed the news on an interview with Good Morning America.

While on Good Morning America, the 55-year-old actor who also is known for his role on Grey’s Anatomy, showed off a script for the film. He shared his excitement for the upcoming Disney+ film during the interview.

“I just got this script for the second movie, and then I’m starting to go through and get notes together,” adding that he thinks shooting for the film might begin this coming spring.

Throughout the interview, Dempsey was exuberant about the chance to work with Amy Adams again saying she was “amazing” and that he was “excited” to again star alongside her.

In the 2007 movie Enchanted, Amy Adams character Giselle finds her world changed when she pursues her happily ever after which leads her from the cartoon world she lives into New York City instead. There, she falls in love with Robert (played by Dempsey).

The news of the sequel to Enchanted was revealed on Disney Investor Day. It will be streaming exclusively on Disney+. Both Amy Adams and now Patrick Dempsey are confirmed to be involved with the film. A release date is not known at this time.
