R2-D2 Arrives at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

R2-D2 can now be found at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Disneyland Resort. This popular droid has been found patrolling Black Spire Outpost on Batuu and DAPS MAGIC correspondent recently found him. As he made his way around Black Spire Outpost he interacted with guests, his Resistance team, and even Chewbacca!

R2-D2 has appeared in ten of the eleven Star Wars films currently in existence. Along with C-3P0, he has appeared in every film in the Skywalker Saga and also Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The only Star Wars film they haven’t appeared in was Solo: A Star Wars Story. According to the Star Wars encyclopedia,R2-D2 stands for Second Generation Robotic Droid Series-2.

R2-D2 arrives just before the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This attraction will allow guests to join the Resistance and go on a mission with them. Of course, things don’t go exactly as planned. While visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests can also shop at the market, fly the Millennium Falcon, enjoy Oga’s Cantina, and of course get blue or green milk. While there they might encounter Kylo Ren or Storm Troopers from the First Order. On the other side they could encounter Chewbacca, Rey, or now R2-D2. Other droids can now be found around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge helping to sell beverages.
