As we continue the countdown of top Disney stories of the year, this one movie is something that swept the country and lasted quite a while. Avengers: Endgame was one of the most anticipated films in history. People clamored for any preview and any indication as to what this film would bring and do to the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
When it premiered it broke records for the opening weekend and quickly climbed the charts of the overall box office. The movie was a huge success with a few lines becoming common vernacular among fans (“I love you 3000”). This wasn’t just a hit but the biggest Marvel movie to date. People didn’t just see it once, but a few times. Google has it as the 7th trending search for the year in the US. It certainly was something that people wanted to know about throughout the year. (If you go to the Google link you might figure out what the top story will be, but if you don’t want spoilers I wouldn’t go there)
The initial month took both the country and world by storm. Avengers: Endgame has been a hit and easily a classic among the Disney/Marvel library. But, it didn’t stop there! A rerelease allowed the film to become the number one box office movie of “All Time.” Of course, it means it’s until there is another Marvel movie that can top it. In the meantime, this is the biggest global blockbuster.
It’s changed the MCU. It’s been on people’s minds throughout the year. All of this makes it one of the biggest stories of the year.
