Since it was announced at the D23 Expo, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has had the intrigue of fans who have been asking for more Obi-Wan Kenobi for years. Knowing the Ewan McGregor was returning to the role just added to the excitement. Now, Star Wars fans have another reason to be excited about this series. Deborah Chow, director of some episodes of The Mandalorian, will be directing Obi-Wan Kenobi.
“We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga,” said Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. “Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I’m absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story.”
The new series will be written by Hossein Amini. The series will be centered on Obi-Wan Kenobi eight years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
