Changes Coming to Rivers of Light at Disney’s Animal Kingdom This Summer

Rivers of Light, the breathtaking nighttime spectacular at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is changing this summer.  Starting on Memorial Day weekend Rivers of Light will become Rivers of Light: We Are One.  The Disney Parks Blog has announced that new scenes will shape the show to reflect more Disney films.  Disneynature animal scenes will be projected, as well as scenes from animated films with animals.  From what it sounds like the music will remain the same.

Rivers of Light has been showing for only about two years.  It had previously been delayed and had a special Jungle Book night show in the Discovery River Amphitheater.  It does seem to be the trend with the night shows to incorporate more Disney films with amazing water, light, and other effects.

One thing that is wonderfully kept with the new We Are One version is the soundtrack.  It is a great score that accompanies bright floats of flowers and animals.  It also sounds like all of the floats will remain as part of the show, including the fire tower during the finale.  Projections are going to be changed, which appear on water mist screens in the lagoon.

A few of our team have been able to view the show in its original form, and we have video below.  What do you think of the changes?  Let us know in comments below!
