Just today, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek, gave us so much to look forward to with the new centerpiece at Disney’s Coronado Springs! This re-imagining will be centered around a 15-story centerpiece, the new Gran Destino Tower.
The Gran Destino Tower will serve as the main entry point for guests entering the resort. That means that almost everyone, even those resort hopping, can get a glimpse of this new beauty! The tower, set to open July 2019, will add 545 new guest rooms (including 50 suites) to the resort, as well as feature a gorgeous two-story lobby. There is also a new restaurant coming to Disney’s Coronado Springs! Set at the top of the Gran Destino Tower, the restaurant will serve up incredible views of Walt Disney World Resort. We imagine that these breathtaking views will not be unlike those from California Grill atop the Contemporary Resort.
The re-imagined Disney’s Coronado Springs will draw heavily from Spanish explorers, architects, and artists. While the Spanish influences are obvious throughout the resort, there is no denying the comfort of a Disney hotel! The resort has updated the existing 1,800 rooms with new lighting and furniture. A second new restaurant is planned to open on an island in the middle of the resort’s 14-acre lake, Lago Dorado, with new walkways stretching across the water. We can’t wait to see just how amazing this new restaurant looks! With a new color palette across the resort, the existing pieces of the resort will blend seamlessly with the newly reimagined.
We shared the concept art from the then-unnamed Gran Destino Tower earlier last month, and we can’t wait to share what will be coming next! Be sure to stay tuned to DAPs MAGIC for all the news coming out of the parks. With so much happening in the next few years, there is just so much to see!
Are you excited to see Disney’s Coronado Springs when it’s completed next summer? Will you be trying out any of the restaurants? Let us know!
