Star Wars: Episode IX began production on August 1, 2018. The last of the Skywalker saga, Abrams will be completing the newest trilogy of Star Wars movies. As production began, J.J. Abrams shared on social media a photo from the set. In the caption, he shared his different emotions about starting this movie.

J.J. Abrams is both the writer and director for Star Wars: Episode IX. He previously led the return of Star Wars to the big screen with 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Production is currently underway in London.
Star Wars: Episode IX will be coming to theaters in December 2019. That cast will include some expected cast members, along with an unexpected one. Carrie Fisher will be reprising her role in this film utilizing previously shot footage. Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd will be returning for this film. So will Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, and Billy Dee Williams. Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, and Keri Russell.
